Chevrolet Camaro Strode from Ringbrothers

Ringbrothers, the world-renowned manufacturer of automobiles and parts, has unveiled its latest custom innovation, ‘STRODE’. A thorough re-engineering of the iconic American muscle, the 1969 Chevy Camaro is a full-top build that uses intense carbon-fiber construction and components combined with a modernized transmission, chassis and suspension system. With only two parts of the original Camaro used, the STRODE took over 6,500 hours to complete and is a testament to the refined design, engineering capabilities and exacting build quality of Ringbrothers.

Much of this work involved building the STRODE’s custom-made, precision-crafted carbon fiber body. Not just a copy of the original Camaro’s body, Ringbrothers has expanded the new carbon fiber version by five inches. Rocker panels have been lowered, the center of the roof has retracted, and an elongated, reshaped hood helps push air into the relocated intake vents. Additional carbon-fiber touches include custom fender scoops, fold-out front and rear fenders, a diffuser, blinds, and a spoiler, all covered in BASF Glasurit Ghost White paint. Modern amenities and amenities come from a fully custom interior from Upholstery Unlimited equipped with a JL audio system, Dakota digital gauges and Vintage Air Gen IV climate control. The hand-rolled cage protects passengers while the rear seat eliminates the extra weight.

“We wanted to push the boundaries of what we could do and showcase our capabilities with STRODE,” said Mike Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers. “It’s a radical rethinking of the original Chevy Camaro, expanding its dimensions and performance levels. With its unique carbon fiber chassis and thousands of hours of custom work, there has never been another Camaro like it. Of course, we have to thank our partners Motul, HRE Wheels and BASF. and Miller Welding, Flowmaster, and others for helping them make STRODE something that not even Michael Myers can catch up with.”

“The building process for STRODE shows what can be accomplished with cutting-edge technologies, painstaking levels of detail and imagination,” added Jim Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers. “We digitally engineered the original Camaro’s body and made a more robust version of carbon fiber. Custom 3D-printed, machined parts were also made and paired with advanced components to make the STRODE extremely capable and comfortable.”

Supporting the newly discovered aggressiveness of STRODE’s enhanced visuals and delivering major strides in performance are the modern powertrain, chassis and suspension. The Wegner Motorsports LS3 with a supercharged Whipple delivers a healthy 1,010 horsepower with the Holley Dominator EFI system that mixes fuel and air. Spent gases exit through handcrafted connectors and Flowmaster silencers. To help put the power on the ground, the Bowler Tremec T-56 Mangum six-speed manual transmission and John’s Industries 9-inch rear end have been reworked. The hydraulically formed subframe on Detroit Speed Engineering is connected to the Roadster Shop FAST TRACK independent suspension front and rear and mounted with QA1 MOD Series coil covers. The front wheels are moved forward three inches for improved stance and handling. HRE Wheels Ringbrothers G-Code Edition wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires provide grip, while Baer Brakes bring the STRODE to a quick stop.
