Hattiesburg, Ms. – The ULM women’s golf team achieved its first championship in two years by defeating The Judson on Tuesday afternoon at Hattiesburg Country Club.

The Warhawks rallied from behind in the final round on Tuesday, shooting 7-under 281 par as the team to outrun second-round leader South Alabama by one shot. ULM finished in 6-over-par 870 for the championship (297-292-281) while USA was 7-over-par 871 (291-292-288).

It’s the first ULM women’s golf tournament since the UT Arlington Invitational won on October 19-20, 2020.

Three Warhawks were placed in the top ten, with Anna Andrysova moving up the leaderboard on the final day to tie her teammate Alessia Mengoni for second. Chantal Düringer took ninth place.

“I’m so proud of this group and what I’ve accomplished in the past two days,” said Rachel Bullock, ULM Women’s Golf Manager. “I feel like everything we worked on, they applied this week. Learning from our previous event and knowing what we are capable of, the execution this week has been very positive. One of the highlights was that Annie and Alicia tied for the second time and then the strong performances by Chantal and Jonah (Sorson) They finished ninth and tied for 25th and capped a great week for us.”

Andrisova finished fourth in the top 10 and third in the top 5 of her short career with an electric final round on Tuesday. She led the field at 5-under 67 on Tuesday to move from 20th to a tie for second on the leaderboard. She finished in average 216 (74-75-67). Starting on the seventh hole, she had seven pars in the last round, coming in from par-3 11, par-4 12th, par-4 16th, par-5 third, par-4 fifth and par-4 sixth and has nine pars.

Mingoni also finished at 216 points (74-71-71) after shooting 1-under 71 on Tuesday. Starting at the fifth hole, she had three birds, sinking them into the 5th, 5th, 17th, and 4th degree first. I picked up 13 mares.

Dueringer hit 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday to climb four points on the leaderboard, finishing ninth at 3-over-par 219 (74-74-71). Starting on the sixth hole, I had an eagle on the ninth hole and a bird on the fifteenth, thirteenth, fifteenth and seventeenth holes and had 10 classes.

Joanna Schorsen tied for 25th after hitting the 72nd tie to finish at 8-over-par 224 (80-72-72). She had five birdies in the final round on Tuesday, draining them into holes 4, 10, 11, 17, 4, 18 and 4. She added eight pars.

Line Petersen hit 7-over-par 79 on Tuesday to tie with 45th at 232 (75-78-79). She cordoned off the 18th hole and had 11 mares.

Sarah Haglund played as a single, 10pts in the final round on Tuesday for a 9-over-81 shot and finishes 55th at 237 (78-78-81).

The Warhawks are now off until the start of the Spring 2023 schedule on February 21 at the Sea Best Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Florida.
