The Atlanta Hawks are slight underdogs on the road Monday in their Halloween Night game with the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors enter this game at 3-3 this season, but they have one of the best defenses in the NBA to pester Trae Young and Dejounte Murray tonight.
I chose this game here, but there are three props I’m also considering for Monday’s game:
Onyeka Okongwu over 11.5 points and correlations
Onyeka Okongwu has cleared that total in five of his six games so far this season, at times seeming to be the team’s best choice at Clint Capela’s position.
Since the Raptors are so tall and massive in the frontal area, Okongwu will be called in to make some plays for Atlanta.
With Trae Young and Dejounte Murray hitting the ball, he should be getting some easy looks in this match to help clear that number.
Scotty Barnes under 7.5 rebounds
Scotty Barnes does everything for Toronto, but I think his rebound brace is a bit overrated tonight, especially since Toronto (29th place) likes to slow games.
Barnes has only hit 7.5 rebounds once all season, and now plays on the Atlanta front court with two elite rebounds in John Collins and Capella.
While he should get his fair share of boards, Barnes is averaging just 5.6 this season. His group will vanish tonight.
Fred Vanfleet under 17.5 points
It’s been a slow start to the season for Fred Vanfleet, who has only broken that record twice in six games and is out in an 11-game shootout against the Philadelphia 76ers.
My biggest concern is the use of FVV, as he has taken just over 15 shots once all season after averaging 16.9 field goal attempts per game last season.
If this trend continues, he’ll have a hard time scoring highs in his teens and lows in his 20s unless he shoots a crazy percentage of the ground.
