After the match, Westbrook reiterated that he is happy to do whatever it takes to help his team win.
“I mentioned before that we had many conversations about sacrifice and understanding what it looks like to me. I’ve mentioned from day one that all that is needed for me is to be able to help the team win. That’s what I will do. I will continue to do that as solutions come to pass,” Westbrook said. season”.
Westbrook also talked about the joy he’s playing with and where it comes from.
“You know, the one thing I will never allow is my happiness, the people outside my family, the people who support me, take away my joy. Always have fun and embrace this game and embrace the gift I got so I can go out and compete. And yes, winning makes you feel better about yourself and that one. The losing stuff isn’t quite as fun… I just love seeing my teammates truly thrive.
“I am delighted to see others doing a great job. All my career is kind of lifts me up to see others do well and tonight was a night where guys shoot, compete, and that’s all you can ask for.”

“I mean, I enjoy it. I embrace it. I mean, I really enjoy seeing other people do well. It’s the kind of thing I live for in life in general. Not just in basketball but in life. I’d rather someone else do a great job.” Because it’s just the joy I get from seeing someone do a good job just lift me up and keep me going tonight to see all these guys drop shots and make plays. You know, it’s cool.”
Westbrook is grateful for spreading joy in the arena
