He faces Bulls guard Michael Jordan and Suns forward Charles Barkley in the 1993 NBA Finals.

Charles Barkley is one of the most respected former professional athletes in the history of Phoenix sport, although he only played for the Suns for only four years.

After Barkley was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to Phoenix in 1992, he won the NBA Most Valuable Player award and led the Suns to the Finals the following season, the second in franchise history and its deepest playoff run.

Barkley’s best career moments in 1993 are still close to the hearts of Suns fans and author Timothy Bella for his new book “Barkley: An Autobiography” released on Tuesday.

“This is a crucial year not just for the Suns, but for the entire city because in some way he helped Charles get Phoenix back on this national map when it comes to a dominant team in the NBA,” Bella said.
