Below, you will find the best strikers by overall rating in NBA 2K23. Unlike most point and position keepers, nearly every power forward in the game plays a secondary position, as do the seven featured players.
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo (97 total)
Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Best reviews: 98 Layup, 95 Perimeter Defense, 92 Defense Rebound
It comes as no surprise that “Greek Mania” is the best forward force in NBA 2K23. Giannis Antetokounmue is one of the top players in the league and the first player in NBA history to finish a regular season in the top 20 in the main five count stats. The 27-year-old also led the Milwaukee Bucks to their first NBA Championship since 1971 and was named Finals Player of the Year after his performances in the 2021 Finals. He was also named Defensive Player of the Year for 2020.
Antetokounmpo has some quality inside the scoring stats with 98 Layup, 91 Driving Dunk and 85 Standing Dunk. He is also skilled at shooting with 81 close shots and 80 medium range shots. Defensively, it’s incredibly impressive with 95 Perimeter Defense, 91 Inside Defense, and 80 Block. Don’t forget he’s 6’11” tall and has a wingspan of seven feet, making him a horrible problem for anyone attacking a basket. He’s sure to grab any stray balls too with the 92 Defensive Rebound.
2. Kevin Durant (96 total)
Team: Brooklyn Networks
Site: PF, SF
Better Reviews: 98 medium-range shots, 98 close shots, 95 . fast shots
Kevin Durant has had a calendar year full of rumors that he was trying to force a business deal out of Brooklyn, but it looks like he’s ready to stay for now. The Nets would be delighted to retain a player who won two NBA Championships with Golden State in 2017 and 2018, four scoring titles, multiple MVP awards, and Rookie of the Year when he first entered the league with the then-Seattle Supersonics.
The “KD” is an offensive machine with its pairing 98 Close Shot and Mid Range Shot. From a distance, he has 88 three-point shots, which is one of the highest ratings in the game except for the odd 99 three-point shot by Steve Curry. His indoor game is also incredibly strong with the 95 Layup and 85 Driving Dunk, ensuring smooth finishes around the basket and hitting the ball into the bucket when needed. The 33-year-old has an amazing 92nd ball bearing, which can baffle opponents and create space for open jumping or driving. The highlight of Durant defensively is his 85 perimeter defense, but focus on attacking with Durant.
3 – Jayson Tatum (93 total)
Team: Boston Celtics
Site: PF, SF
Better Reviews: 93 close shot, 93 shot, medium shot 89
Drafted with the third overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft (the infamous Markel Foltz draft), Jason Tatum has become the face of the franchise and is arguably one of the top ten players in the NBA. In 2022, he helped the Celtics reach the NBA Finals (a loss to Golden State) and helped the US team win the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo that was held in 2021 due to the pandemic.
Tatum is a high-quality shooter with 93 Close Shot and 89 Mid-Range Shot. And 86 three points. His indoor game is great with a 93 Layup and 88 Driving Dunk. Basically, it is a formidable offensive threat. The 24-year-old’s 86 ball-handling skills show his quality to dazzle opponents, and on the defensive side of his game, he’s solid with 89 perimeter defenses.
4 – Anthony Davis (90 total)
Team: Los Angeles Lakers
Site: PF, C
Better Reviews: 94 inside defense, 90 standing dunks, 89 close shots
Anthony Davis is hoping to get back on track, as the struggling Los Angeles team hopes to do the same. The last two seasons in the NBA have seen “The Brow” spend more time on the sidelines than on the court after suffering injuries that kept him out for long stretches. Still, when he’s healthy (if healthy), Davis has the talent to be one of the best players ever to play this position.
Davis is a great indoor scorer with some great traits, most notably the permanent 90 Dunk. It is also very useful in post with 86 Post Fade and 83 Post Hook. From a shooting perspective, his strongest is a close-up shot of 89. From a defensive standpoint, his impressive inner defense 94 will ensure opponents don’t have an easy time painting.
5 – Zion Williamson (87 total)
Team: New Orleans Pelicans
Site: PF, C
Better Reviews: 98 Layup, 97 Driving Dunk, 95 Standing Dunk
22-year-old Zion Williamson had an unforgettable season in 2021-2022, as he struggled with injuries and concerns about his weight. He has missed the entire season and his recovery has been slow. Williamson hopes to put that behind him and get back into shape when the NBA season begins and by all accounts, he looks set to take off. The 6’6″ striker is hoping to replicate the success that saw him pick the fourth youngest player on the NBA All-Star Game in 2021.
Zanos has some pretty impressive numbers both on the inside and in his sport. 97 Driving Dunk and 95 Standing Dunk mean defenders will be late, especially with Hall of Fame Fast Twitch and Limitless Takeoff badges thrown into the mix. He also has a great 98 position for a smooth finish around the basket as well as a 92 Close Shot. The Williamson 99 vertical should also be mentioned because it is simply incredible.
6 – Pascal Siakam (86 total)
Team: Toronto Raptors
Site: PF, C
Better Reviews: 95 close shots, 86 inside defense, 85 standing dunks
Pascal Siakam was selected by the Toronto Raptors with 27The tenth Overall selection in the 2016 NBA Draft. He went on to help the G League team win the 2017 championship, and was also named in the Finals as the Most Valuable Player. The Cameroonian will go on to be part of the 2019 Raptors team that won the NBA Finals as well as winning the league’s Most Valuable Player award.
Siakam has an impressive close-95 shot, which makes him a near-bucket hazard. It is also very dangerous to paint with a variety of ways to attack. They are topped by an 85-degree Dunk and 80 Driving Dunk, which is enough to make defenders always notice where he is. The most notable defense in his game is his 86th home defense, which means defenders will need some smart plays to climb alongside this 6’8 inch star.
7- Domantas Sabonis (86 total)
Team: Sacramento Kings
Site: PF, C
Better Reviews: 98 close shots, 90 defensive rebounds, 88 stops
Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis eleventh overall was drafted into the 2016 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, but was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder that same night. After playing during the junior season with the Thunder, he was traded to Indiana in 2017, where he played for five seasons and was most recently part of a business deal that sent him to the Sacramento Kings.
Sabonis has an impressive 98 close shots, but his other shot numbers are a bit disappointing, he makes up for it with his strong indoor game with 88 Layup, 86 Post Hook and 86 Post Fade. The 26-year-old has 90 defensive bounce points, ensuring minimum second-chance or bounce points for your opponents. He also has a gold Vice Fist badge, so good luck getting the ball out of this guy’s hands.
