The first week of the autumn weather forecast in Bradenton

Autumn has officially passed now that the autumnal equinox has passed on Thursday, but the cold weather is still a long way from southwest Florida.

Manatee County in particular may not transition from the current rainy season until November, according to National Weather Service national meteorologist Christian Pierce, who spoke to the Bradenton Herald Thursday.

“We’re definitely in a warm pattern. We’ll probably stay that way for a few more weeks,” she said. “Normally in Florida, in late October we start to dry out and then get a little cold.”

Pierce expects temperatures to drop soon, but not by much.

The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico maintain higher temperatures in coastal places such as Manatee County, which makes it take longer for temperatures to drop below 60 degrees.

Typically, high humidity lasts until October, with precipitation points in the mid-60s to mid-70s and high temperatures in the mid-80s to lower 90s.
