Make care more convenient | Kaiser Permanente

Honolulu – Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced that it has expanded virtual care and in-person urgent care services to more than 264,000 members. The health care organization has extended urgent care, pharmacy, laboratory and general radiology hours at its West Oahu medical office and the Honolulu Medical Office. The two medical offices are now open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Hawaiian time as well as weekends and most holidays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hawaiian time. The Urgent Care division of Maui Lani Medical Office in Wailuku also operates on the same business hours.

In addition to expanded in-person urgent care, Kaiser Permanente also offers its members 24/7 virtual care, known as Get Care Now, by phone or video. Members can access virtual, on-demand care from the convenience of their home or office via or the mobile app through Kaiser Permanente’s Get Care Now platform. This convenient service is best used for non-emergency illnesses or injuries that require immediate medical attention, including sprains, backaches, flu symptoms, sore throats, earaches, and more. No appointments are required, and members can use a mobile device or computer to visit the video. Members with health concerns that require an in-person visit will be directed to personalized options such as urgent care, same-day care, or their personal physician, depending on the issue.

“Members now have more ways to access our award-winning care, when and where they need it,” said John Yang, MD, president and medical director of Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. “We are committed to providing convenient, coordinated care for our members. Whether they call, click, tap or visit us in person, our members have a seamless and personalized experience, because their entire care team is connected in our integrated model.”

Kaiser Permanente physicians and members are connected using the electronic health record system, which enables care teams to make informed, timely decisions based on the full range of patient information and preferences. Physicians can also easily coordinate with each other and seamlessly refer patients to other team members, including primary care physicians, specialists, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.
